Save Our Sheriff - National Advisory Council

National Advisory Council

The National Advisory Council (NAC) is a private advisory committee. The NAC serves as a steering committee, providing guidance and advice for the Save Our Sheriff organization. This includes, but is not limited to, linking together the American business and private sector interests with the various 3000+ county Sheriffs departments nationwide. NAC is currently made up of three core members who provide best practices to the Executive Officer and help formulate national policy.

The objectives of the SOS as outlined by NAC:

  • To establish a communication network in the private sector by which citizen can network with one another regarding local issues effecting their communities
  • To facilitate effective dialog between the private sector and the Sheriff's Office regarding Constitutional issues.
  • To support Constitutional sheriffs in their effort to follow Constitution mandates which may at times place them at odds with the Federal government or Federal agencies.

History

The SOS website is operated and maintained by founding members Mark Matthews and Robert Jones and their information technology support team. Along with Kaye Bullock, these three individuals comprise the SOS National Advisory Council. Established in January 2010, the current website is an evolution of The Sheriff's Project started by USA1911.com. Building on that organization's trail blazing success, SOS has significantly enhanced the website features and objectives in order to more effectively utilize state of the art technology, constituent feedback, and interactive communication tools. Both organizations share the same primary aim of electing and supporting Constitutional Sheriff's, and while certain strategic objectives may differ, the two organizations work closely with one another.

County Leadership Councils

The County Leadership Councils (CLC) are a local level extension of NAC and provide a forum for effective communication between the county Sheriff and the public/private sector.

For information on joining an established CLC in your area or starting a leadership council, please contact SOS or the SOS Ambassador in your country.
