While in Las Vegas on October 25th 2009, I meet Bill Hunt and his lovely wife Debbie at the 1st Annual Oath Keepers Conference. Debbie is an Orange County native and former Deputy Sheriff, she and Bill have been married for 20 years and have four children.
Back in 2006, Bill Hunt challenged two-term incumbent Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona. Bill was motivated by the rampant mismanagement and corruption at the top levels of the department. Bill Hunt won the endorsement of the men and women of the sheriff’s department over Sheriff Mike Carona and received nearly 100,000 votes from the citizens of Orange County. Subsequently, many of the accusations and allegations from the 2006 campaign were proven true when Carona was indicted on corruption charges.
Carona’s resignation resulted in an appointment process. The appointment process was handled by the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Three of five supervisors chose the current, appointed sheriff Sandra Hutchens to fill the remainder of Carona’s term until the June 2010 primary. Now patriots nationwide need to rally and support Bill Hunt—we need to do whatever we can to get this man elected Sheriff.
The Money Bomb
February 13th is the anniversary of George Washington's birthday. It is also the day selected for the Bill Hunt "money bomb." It is a day to help raise funds and awareness for, Bill Hunt, a 22 year veteran of law enforcement who is running for Sheriff of Orange County, CA.
Bill Hunt is the son of a career law enforcement officer, grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and joined the U.S. Army to serve as a Military Police Officer after graduating from high school. Bill joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in 1985 and rose through the ranks obtaining a diverse background within the department's divisions including jails, patrol, investigations, training, narcotics, gangs, SWAT, supervision and management. Bill served as Chief of Police for the city of San Clemente from 2003-2007.
With your help we can get Bill Hunt elected Sheriff.
