I am the second of four children. My father was a career law enforcement officer. I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and joined the U.S. Army to serve as a Military Police Officer after graduating from high school. I then then joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in 1985 and rose through the ranks obtaining a diverse background within the department's divisions including jails, patrol, investigations, training, narcotics, gangs, SWAT, supervision and management. I served as Chief of Police for the City of San Clemente from 2003-2007.

I am married to Debbie and we have been married for 20 years. Debbie is an Orange County native and former Deputy Sheriff. Debbie is now a registered nurse. We have four children together: Kyle 17, Sara 16, Amanda 14 and Jason 10. Both Debbie and myself are very proud that our son Kyle, a senior in high school has enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and will report for active duty in August 2010."

I own and operate my own business, OC Detectives, Inc, a private investigation agency based in Orange County. I have managed over 300 investigations since founding the company in January 2007. In addition to investigations, my business engages in fugitive apprehensions on behalf of interested agencies. We collaborate extensively with a network of professional investigators who have retired from law enforcement to assist with my case load. My experience in business have broadened my existing management skills and reinforced my belief in the value of building a strong and trustworthy working relationship with the public which I have proudly served for more than 25 years.

I stood for my values and my chosen profession in law enforcement and ran for sheriff to expose the corrupt Carona administration in 2006. I believe I have demonstrated by my conduct and actions that I am committed to living up to my personal values, oath of office and to the law enforcement code of ethics. While other candidates for public office talk about making tough choices, I have proven that I will do what’s right regardless of the consequences.

I am a career cop, not a politician. My decision to run for Orange County Sheriff was motivated by my commitment to integrity, strong and unwaivering leadership and public service.
